Formats and Rules

Double Elimination Match Play: This is a scratch singles event. This event will consist of a 6 game qualifying round across 12 lanes. After qualifying the field will be cut at a 1 in 6 ratio. The format will change to double elimination match play. Bowlers will be seeded and compete in one game match against opponent. Losers move to losers bracket. Once a bowler loses two matches they are eliminated. Final match will be winners bracket finalist vs. losers bracket finalist.

3-Man Baker Challenge : Each team will consist of 3 bowlers (any combination of male or female). Qualifying will consist of each team member rolling 3 individual games followed by 9 combined Baker team games. Teams will rotate their lineups and move pairs after each three games of Baker format so that every bowler has 3 games in each position. After the qualifying round the field will be cut at a 1 in 6 ratio and remaining teams will compete in a Baker* format stepladder finals. Stepladder matches will start with the lowest qualifying team bowling against the next lowest team in a 2 game Baker* style match with winner determined by total 3 game pin-fall (In case of a tie bowlers will roll one ball sudden death roll-off with lead-off bowlers rolling first followed by second and then third bowlers if necessary). *Baker format consists of choosing which bowler will bowl first, second and third. The first bowler will bowl frames 1, 4, 7 and 10. The second bowler will bowl frames 2, 5 and 8 and the third bowler will bowl frames 3, 6 and 9. Once each team has determined their bowling order it cannot be changed during finals matches. Teams may change bowling order after each completed match during finals if they desire.

8-Game Doubles Marathon: Teams will consist of 2 bowlers (any combination of male & female). Each bowler will bowl 8 games across 16 lanes. At the conclusion of the 8th game cash will be paid out at a 1:6 ratio based on total team combined pin-fall. BowlerX-mas Classic: This is a scratch singles event. Each bowler will bowl a 6 game qualifying block across 12 lanes. After qualifying the field will be cut at a 1 in 6 ratio. Qualifying bowlers will be seeded and the tournament format changes to 2-game total pin-fall single elimination match play. Winners advance until there is a tournament champion.

Over/Under 40 Events: Teams must consist of one bowler 40 years of age or over and one bowler under 40 years of age (male or female). Each bowler will bowl 6 games of qualifying across 12 lanes. After the qualifying round the field will be cut at a 1 in 6 ratio. Remaining teams will be seeded and the format will change to one game match play. Losing teams will be eliminated until there is a tournament champion.

One Ball 8-Game Marathon: This is a scratch singles event. There will be an extended practice session of 20 minutes. After practice is completed each bowler must choose ONE BALL from their arsenal which will be used throughout the FULL 8 GAME MARATHON! This includes spare shooting. At the conclusion of the 8 games cash will be paid out at a 1 in 6 ratio.

BowlerX Masters: This is a scratch singles event. Each bowler will bowl 8 games of qualifying (4 games on two different patterns). After the first 4 games there will be approximately a 45 minute break to re-dress the lanes for the second set of 4 games. After the completion of the 8 qualifying games, 1 in 6 bowlers will move on to a bracketed stepladder semi-final round (equal number of bowlers from each pattern). THERE WILL BE TWO SEPARATE BRACKETS, ONE FOR EACH PATTERN. Example: If there are 60 total entries, 10 bowlers will qualify (5 from each pattern). If a bowler qualifies on both patterns they will be placed into the bracket in which they placed the highest. If said bowler finishes in the same position for both rounds they will be placed in the bracket in which they had the highest pin fall. The top qualifiers from each pattern will then compete against each other in a stepladder format contested on the pattern in which they qualified. The winners from these two brackets will then face off for the championship in a best of 3 game set on the pattern determined by the bowler with the highest 8 game qualifying score.
